Chunghwa Post Co., Ltd. has been operating steadily since 1895. Over the 128 years, we have served as an indispensable public utility service in people’s daily lives. The service items include postal services, banking services, remittances, simple life insurance services, philately, e-commerce, and asset operations. In accordance with the government’s economic stimulus measures for 2023, Chunghwa Post actively assisted with operation of the “Universal Cash for All” Project, upholding the mission of safeguarding the well-being of our fellow citizens and remaining steadfastly committed to serving all on the frontline.
In terms of sustainable management and operational performance, the Sustainable Development Committee was established in 2023 to formulate sustainability strategies, promote relevant measures, review and continually refine the existing operational models, carry out TCFD (Task Force on Climaterelated Financial Disclosures) projects, establish a mechanism for disclosing climate-related financial risks, seize relevant business development opportunities while upholding the principle of sustainable development as we take our steady steps forward with a macroscopic foresight
In terms of governance, 306 hours of training and education courses were conducted for directors and supervisors to enhance professional competence. All the operating units (100%) completed the integrity risk assessment. To strengthen employees’ awareness of legal compliance, 22 sessions of lectures on legal promotion were organized, with a total of 1,494 participants. Chunghwa Post has established a comprehensive talent incubation system. The physical training hours for employees amounted to 362,563 hours and the learning hours from the E-Learning mechanism reached 574,033 hours, with the number of 74 digital courses provided. In addition, training on human rights issues reached 98.88%, aiming to create a happy and friendly working environment.
As for the environment, in response to the impact of climate change and in alignment with thegovernment’s policy of net-zero emissions by 2050, Chunghwa Post has invested a cumulative of NT$ 461.45 million in electric vehicles and the installation of a 3,631kW solar photovoltaic (PV) power generation system. The carbon emission system is integrated and the inventory of electricity consumption and carbon emissions is taken, with the plans to expand the scope of inventory of GHG emissions to all levels of branch offices, and the measures for energy conservation and carbon reduction are carried out in all operating sites. Chunghwa Post continues to invest in green enterprises and support green energy. The total amount of domestic and international investment in green bonds increased approximately NT$ 9.203 billion while the ratio of the investment in TWSE/TPEx ListedCompanies complying with corporate social responsibility accounted for 98.9%.
In the social aspect, Chunghwa Post strives to promote business technology and improve the postal and digital financial services. We launched the very first “digital VISA debit card”, which does not come with a physical card. At the same time, the optimization of the POST APP, the e-commerce platform, PostMall, the 24/7 iBox, and the business locations that have a coverage rate of over 99% has been continuously carried out to provide universal postal service. In addition, to fulfill the spirit of “Postal services for public welfare, being deeply rooted locally”, Chunghwa Post continued to organize 286 sessions of “Caring for the Communities” series activities, with 45,015 participants in total. We held Staying Young Activities and provided the service of caring for the elderly living alone. We integrated our postal resources and worked together with the e-commerce platform, PostMall, for the “Caring for the Marketing of Agricultural Products” activity, assisted 263 local farmers with the marketing of agricultural products, with a sales volume of approximately NT$ 28.86 million, and the public welfare donation reached approximately NT$ 650,000.
