Every year, based on the endurance conditions of electric scooters, the needs for replacing petrol scooters of each office will be consulted, and the number of delivery districts of each office, the service life of the existing scooters, the mileage and the annual budgets are all put into consideration for the planning of the purchase quantity and quota of each unit so as to make timely replacement of the vehicles to meet the postal needs while at the same time taking into account energy conservation and carbon reduction.
Approach
Effect of Energy Conservation and Carbon Reduction in 2023
To be aligned with the aforementioned mid- to long-term plans, the total number of e-vehicles replaced in 2023 was 1,000, and the electricity consumption was approximately 192,300 kWh. Based on the total fuel consumption calculated at 243.86 liters/per vehicle and calculated based on the Industrial Development Administration’s carbon inventory calculator, the carbon emissions of e-scooters were 95.00 tonnes CO2e/year, reducing carbon emissions by approximately 480.85 tonnes CO2e/year.
